Designer Jawara Alleyne is teaming up with artist Alvaro Barrington for a pre-carnival pop-up shop and party… plus more fashion news you missed
Jawara Alleyne is having a great year. Back in April, global mega icon Rihanna boasted how Alleyne was her “new favourite designer” in Interview magazine, which was cannily followed up by a slogan t-shirt celebrating the shout out. After that, Alleyne dropped a gritty campaign lensed by Jebi Labembika, one of the standouts of the SS24 season, and now to top that all off he’s hosting a London pop-up for one-night only.
The Jamaican designer has teamed up with artist Alvaro Barrington for a pop-up shop inspired by Notting Hill Carnival, held this weekend at Barrington’s London HQ. The event is set to launch the Come Home capsule, a collaborative collection from Jawara Alleyne x Alvaro Barrington Studios, and will also feature other pieces from Alleyne’s body of work. Head down to the pre-carnival warm-up at 179-181 Whitechapel Road, E1 1DN, where the party will be popping from 4pm ‘til late.
